Build4U SERVICE (a.k.a. BUILD & RACK) - INFORMATION & FAQ
======================================================================

Last Updated: October 30, 2026

SUMMARY:
42U Networks L.L.C. ("42U Networks") offers the Build4U service (a.k.a.
BUILD & RACK), a comprehensive turnkey hardware solution designed for
clients requiring specialized dedicated hardware, enterprise nodes, or
brand-new server infrastructure without the logistical burden of sourcing
individual parts, assembling components, and coordinating datacenter freight.

This FAQ details how our Build4U hardware procurement, custom assembly,
burn-in benchmarking, datacenter deployment, ownership rights, and return
logistics operate.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. WHAT IS THE "Build4U" (BUILD & RACK) SERVICE?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Build4U service allows you to commission tailor-made server hardware
directly through 42U Networks. Instead of purchasing chassis, CPUs, and RAM
yourself and shipping an assembled server to our facilities, we manage the
entire end-to-end hardware pipeline:
- Component procurement (enterprise motherboards, enterprise ECC memory,
CPUs, enterprise NVMe/SSDs, hardware RAID, GPU accelerators, and NICs);
- Professional chassis assembly, clean cable routing, and thermal optimization;
- Hardware burn-in, memory stress testing, and thermal validation;
- Datacenter racking, PDU power connection, out-of-band IPMI setup, and
switch port cross-connects.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
2. WHO IS Build4U DESIGNED FOR?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This service is ideal for:
- Custom Dedicated Server Customers: Clients whose architectural needs exceed
standard off-the-shelf dedicated servers (e.g., massive local NVMe arrays,
dual-socket AMD EPYC / Intel Xeon configurations, or specific high-bandwidth
NICs).
- Colocation Clients Expanding Fleets: Colocation clients who want to add
nodes in target metro facilities without physically packing or shipping units.
- AI/ML & Compute Workloads: Workloads requiring high-density PCIe GPUs or
custom accelerator configurations with dedicated power considerations.
- Remote & International Organizations: Clients operating outside the United
States who need hardware stationed locally in US datacenter facilities
without navigating complex import customs, brokerage, and freight hazards.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
3. HOW DOES THE COMMISSIONING PROCESS WORK?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 1: SPECIFICATION & QUOTE
Open a ticket or submit a request with your technical specifications (CPU,
RAM, storage configuration, networking ports, chassis height, and preferred
datacenter location). We will provide an itemized quote detailing:
- Hardware component costs;
- Assembly and testing labor / setup fees;
- Ongoing monthly colocation / transit fees (space, power circuits, bandwidth).

STEP 2: INVOICING & PROCUREMENT
Upon quote approval and payment, our procurement team sources components
through authorized wholesale distributors.

STEP 3: ASSEMBLY & STRESS TESTING (BURN-IN)
Our technicians assemble the unit, verify firmware revisions (BIOS/BMC), and
conduct a mandatory 24 to 48-hour hardware burn-in test (stressing memory pools,
storage drives, and CPU cores) to isolate and eliminate infant component mortality.

STEP 4: RACKING & HANDOFF
The machine is professionally racked, cabled to primary/secondary A/B power
circuits, connected to switch ports, and configured with out-of-band IPMI
over secure VPN. You receive root/IPMI access and full administrative control.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
4. HARDWARE OWNERSHIP: WHO OWNS THE SERVER?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

YOU OWN THE HARDWARE.

When you purchase a custom build under the Build4U program, you hold full
legal title and ownership of the physical server, chassis, and underlying
components once the initial hardware invoice is paid in full.

42U Networks acts as your system integrator, colocation custodian, and network
transit provider.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
5. WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL MY HOSTING SERVICE?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because you own the physical hardware, YOUR SERVER WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU
UPON SERVICE CANCELLATION OR CONTRACT COMPLETION.

DECOMMISSIONING & SHIPPING PROCEDURE:
1. Cancellation Notice: Submit a cancellation request via the Customer Portal
prior to your renewal date.
2. Graceful Shutdown & De-Racking: Following your billing cycle conclusion (or
upon your requested de-commission date), technicians will disconnect the
server from power and network feeds, carefully remove it from the rack, and
remove mounting rails.
3. Secure Packaging: The chassis, power supplies, rails, and accessories are
packaged securely with protective foam and heavy-duty shipping containers.
4. Return Transit: The server will be dispatched to your designated shipping
address via insured commercial courier (FedEx, UPS, DHL, or freight carrier).

SHIPPING CHARGES:
As set forth in our Colocation Policies, you are responsible for all actual
packing materials, freight, handling, customs duties (for international
shipments), and transit insurance fees incurred when returning your server.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
6. COMPONENT WARRANTIES & HARDWARE REPLACEMENTS
----------------------------------------------------------------------

- Manufacturer Warranties: All newly sourced parts carry standard manufacturer
warranties (typically 3 to 5 years for enterprise enterprise drives, memory,
and motherboards).
- Warranty Processing: If a component experiences hardware failure while
colocated on our platform, our team can assist in coordinating manufacturer
RMAs and physically swapping the replacement part through our Smart Hands
support.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
7. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How long does the entire Build4U process take?
A: Turnaround times depend on component stock and market availability. Standard
builds typically deploy within 7 to 14 business days from payment. Custom,
rare, or backordered enterprise components (such as specialized GPU chassis
or multi-terabyte ECC configurations) may require extended lead times, which
will be clearly communicated in your initial quote.

Q: Can I supply some of my own parts (e.g., proprietary drives or GPUs)?
A: Yes. Hybrid builds are supported. You can purchase the base server through
Build4U and mail specific drives, licenses, or accelerator cards to be
installed during assembly.

Q: Do you charge an assembly fee?
A: A competitive, one-time integration and burn-in bench fee is included in the
upfront quote. This covers assembly, cable management, firmware flashing,
stress testing, and datacenter rack installation.

Q: Can I choose which datacenter location my server is placed in?
A: Yes. Subject to facility floor space and power availability, your Build4U
server can be placed in any of our active partner markets (including Detroit,
Grand Rapids, Albany, Chicago, Colorado Springs, Dallas, Los Angeles,
Philadelphia, Tampa, or Ottoville).

Q: Can I install my own operating system?
A: Absolutely. Once racked, we provide out-of-band IPMI/KVM access so you can
mount your own ISOs, configure custom RAID arrays, and install any Linux,
BSD, Windows Server, or virtualization hypervisor (e.g., Proxmox, ESXi)
remotely.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
8. HOW TO GET STARTED
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To request a Build4U (BUILD & RACK) proposal:
1. Log in to the 42U Networks Customer Portal: https://42u.networks / https://get42.us
2. Open a support ticket under the "Sales / Custom Hardware" department.
3. Provide your desired hardware profile, intended use case, and preferred
datacenter region. A systems engineer will follow up with an itemized
configuration and quote.
